BEYONCE: "LIFE IS BUT A DREAM" DOCUMENTARY SETS VIEWER RECORD

Beyonce: Life Is But A Dream was a big hit for HBO. Large audience tuned in for Beyonce's 90-minute film on Saturday, February 16. The premiere attracted 1.8 million viewers, the largest audience for HBO event ever recorded.

"Beyonce: Life Is But A Dream," is Beyonce's autobiographical, self-produced documentary. For many it was a disappointment, because the film did not show much of her private life, creative process and other things the audience would like to know.

But the documentary has also breathed life in the ratings for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN broadcasting company. The Grammy winner’s sit-down interview with Oprah on the media mogul’s newest segment called “Next Chapter” has also reportedly attracted a staggering 1.3 million viewers.

This means that more than one million viewers had listened to and watched Beyonce’s 60-minute intimate conversation with the prominent TV icon aired just one hour before her own produced film was aired on HBO.

Oprah was later quoted as saying by ABC network that the film has left her “in tears and shocked” in what she described as a “fiercely empowering” and “game changer” film project Hollywood has ever produced yet.

“Her spirit is just like ours,” Oprah said when interviewed at the documentary’s HBO premiere, according to the New York Daily News. “She hurts and she longs to do the right thing. My favorite moment is when she says ‘I’m done with trying to be cool, I’m gonna be honest.’ I love that.”

In the much-talked about documentary, Beyonce opened up about the many milestones in her 15 years in the entertainment industry and her struggles as an individual before making a name for herself in the challenging world of stars in Hollywood.

It also took an inside look about her first miscarriage and the deep love she has had for husband Jay-Z. A special emphasis is given on the joy of motherhood, something she said she has been fortunate to experience in life since Blue Ivy came to her life and husband, Jay-Z.

The singer offered a very different dimension of self in the documentary that will be aired on HBO Saturday. She allowed the specials to talk her into opening up and letting her hair down that in the end allowed her millions of fans and critics alike to see some of her vulnerabilities.

Beyonce when revealed has indeed changed not only how she is viewed by many. In the very "revealing" self-produced documentary, Beyonce had let us enter her world, and walked the road less traveled as the audience threaded the path she had, as shown in the film.
