‘NUDE KIM KARDASHIAN ‘FERTILITY’ STATUE REVEALED

*Oh boy. We’ve seen it all now.

The Sistine Chapel, The Mona Lisa, and Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” have some new competition.

A masterpiece was recently unveiled in Los Angeles, and her name is Kim Kardashian. Indeed, just when you think she’s out of tricks, Kim surprises you with another rabbit out of her designer hat. As if setting pregnancy trends in fashion wasn’t enough, the reality star raised the bar yet again. To celebrate her final trimester, Kim now has an image of her nude, pregnant body etched in stone. Yep, drink it in.

But it wasn’t necessarily her idea.

Sculpted by celebrity artist Daniel Edwards, the statue, titled “L.A. Fertility,” portrays the 32-year-old mom-to-be without arms, her belly and breasts enormous. Visitors are encouraged to rub the voluminous belly “for good luck and success,” publicist Cory Allen said in a statement. Edwards explained that the sculpture was in response to all the criticism Kardashian has received since becoming pregnant.

“I was inspired by the beauty of Kim Kardashian and felt quite put-off by the media’s criticism of her weight gain during pregnancy,” Edwards said in the release. “Such criticism should be off limits.”

“People tend to look at the parts, like the creases in her armpits, or how she wore a dress that makes her look like a killer whale,” Edwards further explained to Los Angeles Magazine. “I’m stripping it of the details people get stuck on, so they can see the beauty.”

Other works in Edwards’ exhibit, which opened Wednesday at the LAB ART Gallery in Los Angeles, include a bronze replica of Kardashian and Kanye West‘s baby in utero with a “swirl design pattern” carved in the baby’s hair.

There’s also a bronze image of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s royal baby, “slumbering peacefully in the crown Queen Elizabeth wore as a princess.”

The artist is no stranger to controversy. His celebrity-inspired artwork includes a 2006 life-sized nude rendering of Britney Spears giving birth to son Sean Preston and a statue of Angelina Jolie breast-feeding.

“We live in a media-absorbed culture where anyone can access and share a celebrity’s most intimate moments,” Allen said in the release. “Daniel visually captures ‘that’ intimacy.”
