The new story will be available digitally as well as in stores. USA Today reports that theUltimate line of comics was launched in 2000 to tell contemporary stories.

In this debut issue, the new Spiderman will first step on the scene when he breaks up a fight. But the story will unfold the background of Morales and how he became the new hero.

“The theme is the same: With great power comes great responsibility,” says writer Brian Michael Bendis. “He’s going to learn that. Then he has to figure out what that means.”

“What you have is a Spider-Man for the 21st century who’s reflective of our culture and diversity. We think that readers will fall in love with Miles Morales the same way they fell in love with Peter Parker.”

Not only will the new Spidey be just like the original hero, he’ll have a few different abilities. However, what those specific abilities are weren’t detailed.
