THE VOICE BOOSTS RATINGS AND CLOSES THE BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT GAP
People may have been too quick to write off the new series of The Voice when it kicked off last month, as it’s been revealed that last night’s episode once again saw a ratings increase for the BBC competition.
The show – featuring Jessie J, Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue – is closing the gap between itself and Britain’s Got Talent and achieved it’s highest viewing figures yet with Saturday night’s instalment.
The Voice launched in March with an unimpressive average of 6.3 million viewers
Viewing figures have been on the rise ever since and yesterday just under 8 million people tuned in to watch the second last blind audition show, after which the format will move into Battle Rounds.
The time was changed from it’s usual 7pm slot once again and aired at the later time of 8.05, to avoid a major clash with ITV’s BGT. The show’s overlapped for 20 minutes but The Voice still attracted an average of 7.9 million viewers and peaked at 8.9m, which was a 50,000 increase on last week’s figures.

Simon Cowell has found himself a winning
The BGT figures were boosted by the ITV+1 showing, which brought viewers up to just under 10 million and a peak of over 11m.
Things could change over the next few weeks, as The Voice moves into it’s battle round and steal phases, while BGT inches towards their big reveal and of course
Who do you think will be the winner
