GUESS WHO'S READY TO SIGN A NEW ALBUM FOLLOWING A 7 YEAR HIATUS? - WU TANG

The re-emergence of Wu-Tang.

*Guess whose new album will be out in about 45 days? Think hyphenated group name: Give up?

Wu-Tang.

RZA of Wu-Tang has said that production of the hip hop group’s new record is “45 days” away from being completed.

Wu-Tang recently celebrated 20 years since the release of their debut album, ‘Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The new album had originally been loosely scheduled for a 2013 release, we don’t know if the elimination of the new song, “Family Reunion” from the album had anything to do with its delay; and there is no word on when that record will arrive.

Speaking to the Associated Press, RZA repeated claims he made earlier in the year about Raekwon holding up the recording process while revealing the timeline he has for completion of the album. GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck contributed to the album; which is currently with outside producers for final touches.

“The energy that’s important is constantly pouring out. But when you’ve got to go seek for the energy, it becomes a little more difficult,” says RZA. ” Wu-Tang is forever, I’ll never take back that statement. But we haven’t recorded a lot of studio albums. This is the first album we’ve recorded in seven years, actually. And we can’t wait seven years for another album,” he concludes.

Earlier this year we learned that GZA will definitely not be appearing in the forthcoming Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic, Dirty White Boy. The film is set to star Michael K Williams – who played Omar Little in The Wire – as the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who passed away in 2004 of a drugs overdose. Williams has said that the people working on the film “have no desire to cast any actors as the Wu-Tang”.
