SAYS CHRIS BROWN HAS X’D RIHANNA DUET FROM ‘X’ ALBUM

Chris Brown and Rihanna attend the NBA game between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on December 25, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers defeated the Knicks 100-94.

*With the release of his latest album “X” a few weeks away, Chris Brown has apparently decided to x his ex, Rihanna, from the line up.

A source told Hollywoodlife.com, “Just saw the working track list for ‘X’ yesterday — Rihanna is not on there.”

Chris previously talked about a song that featured the pop princess called “Put It Up.” He told MTV in April that, “It’s more of an R&B record … I wanted to do an R&B record with Rihanna because I didn’t want it to be the same four-on-the-floor, pop. At the end of the day, that’s what they expect from us, so I wanted to do more of a record that nobody really heard her sing on as far as that genre.”

The song “Put It Up” was penned as a follow up record to ex couple’s previous collaborations for “Birthday Cake and “Nobody’s Business,” but the song making the final cut was never solidified. He told Rolling Stone back in March that, “It’s still in the pot of songs we have to pick from. It may or may not make it, but you know, because she’s already on it, it’s a strong possibility.”

Well if sources from Hollywoodlife.com are correct, then is doesn’t look like the song with his on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend will be “in the pot.”

“Record execs wanted that song on there,” the unnamed Hollywoodlife.com source said, “but Chris said he would rather not and wouldn’t allow the record to be released unless they took it off. They’re still hoping to convince Chris or pay him more to change his mind because it would be a hit. The record hasn’t been pressed yet, so things can change, but at this point he’s not changing his mind.”

Meanwhile, confirmed features include Kendrick Lamar for “Autumn Leaves;” and Aaliyah, whose unreleased vocals make a guest appearance on his latest single, “They Don’t Know.”

X, Brown’s sixth studio album, is slated for released July 16.
