Simon Cowell has outgrown looking for the next America Idol. Instead, he is now in search for the world’s greatest DJ
*Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment is partnering with the Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television to continue developing the new show, which has been in the works for over a year.
“We have been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people,” said Cowell via a statement, according to Deadline.com.”
As soon as I met Jada and Miguel from Overbrook, I knew they would be our ideal partners. DJ’s are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”
Pinkett-Smith is equally excited, stating, “This show will comb the world to find a new breed of talent. I am happy to be creating it alongside Simon Cowell.”
Cowell has a remarkable track record when it comes to talent search shows and the success of American Idol, X Factor and America’s Got Talent should give a clear indication of the new show’s future.
The program has yet to be given a name or premiere date,
but will air in both the US and the UK.
